Lauren Walsh is elated to join the Boston 25 News team as a sports multimedia journalist! As a Medford, Massachusetts native, she is excited to cover her hometown teams and the greater New England sports scene. Lauren comes to Boston from WSMV in Nashville, Tennessee. She has also worked as sports director at WXII in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and WVNY in Burlington, Vermont. In that time, Lauren has covered the NFL, NHL, and Stanley Cup Playoffs, March Madness and the Final Four, MLS and international soccer matches, tons of college football, NASCAR, high school sports, and more. She is humbled to have received multiple industry honors for her work. Throughout her career, Lauren has taken great pride in finding and telling compelling stories within her sports coverage and can't wait to uncover more of those stories in the Boston and New England areas. She is a proud graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Go Orange! During college, Lauren interned with NESN on-site at Fenway Park and is excited to reunite with some familiar faces at Sox games. In her free time, Lauren enjoys playing soccer, hitting the gym, watching reality TV, traveling, writing poetry, and exploring local restaurants. She has previously volunteered as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters and used her fluency in Spanish as a Spanish-to-English tutor at adult literacy organizations. She hopes to continue those endeavors in the Boston area.
