Boston 25 Weather

Temperatures fall to November levels

EARLY WEEK

Dry weather sets the tone as we round off Sunday and begin the new week. Cooler temps will accompany the dryness with lows returning to the 30s by Monday morning. Expect highs to remain in the low 50s too, 5-10 degrees below average, even with a partly sunny sky.

Temps remain in the same range on Tuesday, but more clouds enter the picture in the afternoon. Light flow off the water may generate some drizzle in the late afternoon and evening. You likely do not need an umbrella, but it’s not going to be the most comfortable end to the day.

INCREASING RAIN CHANCES

Wednesday is expected to be mostly cloudy to overcast. The flow off the water remains steady and so does the patchy drizzle and light shower activity.

Our next chance for a real, widespread rainfall comes late Thursday into Friday as a coastal storm tracks up the eastern seaboard. As of now the greatest impacts appear likely from Thursday afternoon to Friday morning. Trick-or-treating may be better, but prepare for a light shower or two and a breeze to be safe.

TRACKING MELISSA

Melissa became a major Hurricane overnight Saturday and is expected to bring devastating rain and destructive wind to portions of the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Jamaica over the next couple of days. The storm, currently south of Jamaica, will drift slowly towards the island on Monday before making landfall early on Tuesday. The storm is expected to be a category 4 as it does. By Wednesday, Melissa is forecasted to speed up a bit and track over southeastern Cuba, before tracking northeastward through the southeastern Bahamas, and out to sea from there. As of now, rough seas will be the only impact to coastal waters of the US.
