BLUSTERY FOR SHOPPERS
It’s a cool start to the day across the region, and anyone heading out early for Black Friday deals will want to bundle up. Afternoon highs reach the low 40s, but gusty winds between 30 and 40 mph will make it feel colder and keep things blustery through the afternoon. Skies stay partly cloudy, just cold and breezy.
WEEKEND IN VIEW: SUNDAY STORM
Saturday begins below freezing, with many communities waking up in the 20s. Sunshine returns quickly, and despite the bright skies, temperatures only recover into the low 40s. It’s a crisp late-November day—good for outdoor decorating, but gloves will come in handy.
Sunday starts cool and quiet, but an incoming storm system will bring a change later in the day. Rain develops across eastern Massachusetts during the afternoon, while the higher elevations in the interior have a better chance of seeing snow. West of I-495, a few wet snowflakes may briefly mix in as the storm arrives, though no major impacts are expected near the coast. Across New England, the combination of rain and wintry mix could lead to slick travel Sunday afternoon and evening, which is an important window for holiday travelers heading home.
QUIET MONDAY, WATCHING TUESDAY STORM
Behind the departing system, Monday turns quieter with dry conditions and cooler-than-normal air settling in.
Another storm is on the horizon for Tuesday, and this one bears watching closely. It carries the potential for both rain and snow, with a better chance for accumulating snow locally compared to Sunday’s system. Travel impacts are possible, depending on the exact track and temperatures, and we’ll continue to fine-tune those details over the next couple of days.
