FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — Sometimes, with snowstorms, timing is everything, and this weekend’s storm could not have been less disruptive.
The snow started falling around midnight and, by about 6 AM, had pretty much wrapped up. Around five inches fell in communities around Boston – and clean-up was quick.
“Framingham’s really good with clearing snow,” said one Whole Foods shopper. “They were out at like 3 o’clock in the morning doing the streets and putting down salt.”
By dawn, Route 9 was only wet – though some side roads proved a bit tricky to navigate.
“I love the snow, it’s gorgeous,” said another shopper.
More than that, he added, it’s amazing – from a certain perspective.
“I want you to think about this there’s no such thing as snow,” he said. “It’s never snowed on the planet and then one day you come out and you see this. What would you be thinking?”
The Boston 25 Weather team says New England is stuck in a pattern that will bring more storm systems from west to east in the coming weeks.
That’s pretty typical for a La Nina winter. What’s uncertain is the exact track those storms will take – and that will determine whether Boston can make a major dent in a snowfall deficit that’s running around 30 inches shy – with just five weeks of winter left.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
