BOSTON — We’re on a SEVERE WEATHER ALERT from the Boston 25 Weather Team due to a severe thunderstorm warning in our area.
This alert is in effect for parts of Worcester and Middlesex counties until 7:45 a.m.

Impacted areas include Lowell, Billerica, Chelmsford, Dracut, Westford, Acton, Bedford, Pepperell, Tyngsborough, Groton, Lunenburg, Townsend, Littleton, Lancaster, Ayer, Shirley, Harvard, Boxborough, Carlisle, and Dunstable, according to the National Weather Service.
The NWS warned, “Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to trees and power lines....For your protection, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building.”
