MILFORD, Mass. — An 8-year-old child has been seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in Milford.
The incident occurred earlier Thursday afternoon, when Milford police confirmed that a child was struck by a vehicle. A lifelight took the victim to the hospital.
According to Milford Superintendent Craig Consigli and Woodland Elementary School Principal David McGovern, they confirmed that the child is an 8-year-old student. Milford Public School officials are in contact with the child’s family, alongside the Milford First Responders.
“All points of the Congress Street @ Spruce and West Spruce Street intersection are closed,” the Milford Police Department wrote on their Facebook account. “Please avoid the area as responders investigate a pedestrian accident.”
Milford School Officials also said that counseling resources will be available to Woodland Elementary School students Friday morning.
