NORWELL, Mass. — A Brockton man is facing charges after allegedly threatening to kill workers at a local car dealership before attacking and attempting to carjack not only his Uber driver, but police as well.

28-year-old Elishah Moore-Evans was arrested and charged with assault and battery on a police officer with serious injury, criminal threatening, two counts of attempted carjacking, two counts of malicious damage to a vehicle, malicious damage to a business, resisting arrest, disturbing the peace, and disorderly conduct.

According to Norwell Police, on January 29, Moore-Evans took an Uber to a car dealership on Pond Street around 9:44 a.m., when he became agitated and aggressive during the transport and began telling the driver about “Dominicans taking all of the jobs.”

After arriving at the dealership, the Uber driver gout out of the car and asked employees there for help because Moore-Evans was becoming more aggressive.

Moore-Evans followed the driver inside the business, and allegedly began aggressively lunging at employees who were trying to deescalate the situation.

According to police, Moore-Evans yelled “What are you going to do about it? I will kill you and comeback and shoot and kill all of the workers.” He then allegedly slammed his hands on a vehicle inside the dealership and told the employees he was taking the car.

Following the alleged outburst, Moore-Evans reportedly attacked the Uber driver while trying to steal his keys, damaging a glass window in the process.

After taking the keys, Moore-Evans ran outside into the Uber, but couldn’t figure out how to put the car in drive.

Arriving officers surrounded the car, and Moore-Evans allegedly exited and began walking in an aggressive manner.

Police say Moore-Evans told officers, “I m going to take the cruiser” before unsuccessfully attempting to open a Norwell Police cruiser door.

Officials say while being detained by police, he tried twice to hit an officer in the face with a closed fist and continued acting aggressively, damaging a cruiser door.

He was eventually taken to the ground and handcuffed. Moore-Evans was transported to an area hospital along with two officers he allegedly injured in the altercation.

He will be arraigned at a later date.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
