Hopkinton tree worker rescue (Hopkinton Fire Department)

HOPKINTON, Mass. — A worker was stuck high in the air on Tuesday morning, prompting a rescue operation by the Hopkinton Fire Department.

According to authorities, they responded to a call around 11:40 a.m. for a tree worker trapped in a bucket truck on Hayden Rowe Street.

The worker had been cutting down a tree when the hydraulic arm that was holding him up failed, leaving the arm stuck in the upright position.

Unable to descend, arriving crews found the worker uninjured, but stuck 65 feet in the air.

With the Massachusetts Fire District 14 Technical Rescue Team, companies used a high-point anchor and lowering system to rescue the uninjured worker.

He was safely lowered to the ground without incident.
