Former commercial pilot tells Boston 25 he knew pilots aboard crashed UPS plane in Kentucky

LOUISVILLE, KY — A UPS plane crashed on takeoff from the airport in Louisville, Kentucky, igniting a huge fire on the ground Tuesday evening.

The FAA said the plane was scheduled to fly to Honolulu after it took off from Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport.

Tom Cappelletti, aviation expert and former commercial pilot, joined Boston 25’s Mark Ockerbloom and Cayle Thompson to discuss the devastating crash and revealed he knew two of the pilots aboard the plane.
